Churches See a Drop in Giving

Christian post reports that a recent survey shows that the share of Evangelicals who have donated to their church has dropped in recent years, with nearly one-third saying they didn’t donate to a church or charity within the prior 12 months. The poll found that 61% of respondents donated to a church in the 12 months preceding the survey, constituting a drop from the 74% of Evangelicals who gave to a church in 2021. Every age and socioeconomic group showed a drop in the number of people giving.

If this becomes a trend, churches will be in serious trouble. One of the best antidotes to this is for families to intentionally teach their children biblical principles about money and especially about giving. Giving a tithe to our church is a good place to start since it’s an easy concept for even children to grasp: some portion of what we have and earn goes to God’s work.
