Wisconsin Institute for Law and Liberty has filed a new motion to intervene in defense of Act Ten due to a recent court decision that creates serious constitutional concerns regarding the First Amendment and compelled speech. Act Ten limits the power of public sector unions to extract money from state taxpayers, but a recently filed lawsuit with the liberal-leaning Wisconsin Supreme Court seeks to reverse the landmark legislation enacted by Governor Scott Walker in twenty-eleven.
Experts tell us repealing Act 10 would cost Wisconsin taxpayers more than two billion dollars annually. We’re thankful WILL is continuing to stand up for this pro-taxpayer, pro-freedom statute that has served Wisconsin families well by keeping property taxes low, which helps families become or remain independent, which in turn, strengthens Wisconsin as a state.
