Earlier this week, the Washington Stand reported that Sam’s Club and Kroger, two of America’s largest retail chains, began dispensing the abortion pill mifepristone in their pharmacies. Within days, both Sam’s and Kroger backtracked and said the pills were listed on their pharmacy websites in error. It’s hard to believe both chains coincidentally had the same error, but regardless, this incident shows the powerful shift in American culture. Big businesses are backing away from alignment with the abortion industry.
Although Sam’s Club and Kroger took a step in the right direction, CVS and Walgreens still offer abortion pills at their pharmacies. Live Action estimates that if the rates of chemical abortions remain steady, every year as many as 45,000 women could require surgery after taking the abortion pill.
