Donald Trump has been elected the 47th president of the United States, making him the first president to serve 2 non-consecutive terms since Grover Cleveland in 1892. Wisconsin was yet again a critical battleground state with its 10 electoral votes going to Trump in a race decided by a margin of about 1%. Trump’s national win was actually clinched by Wisconsin which put him over the required 270 electoral votes threshold to win the election.
We still are waiting on the results of our highly contested US Senate race and on the final outcomes of several state Senate and Assembly races. What we do know is that our God is sovereign even in elections and that His admonition to us is to live as faithful Christians no matter who serves in elected offices.
