Car Thefts Rise in Milwaukee

In Milwaukee, according to jsonline, motor vehicle theft has risen 41% since earlier this year. Year-to-date, vehicle theft has risen 7% over last year, with a 26% increase in car jackings. Police Inspector David Feldmeier says in many cases the perpetrators were groups of young people. Mayor Cavalier Johnson has called on parents and the public to help address the recent uptick in car break-ins and carjackings, saying parents have the biggest role of all in holding young people accountable.
