Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin’s Madison facility is preparing for increased traffic from eastern parts of Iowa now that Iowa’s six-week abortion ban has gone into effect. Iowa became the twenty-second state in the country Monday to enact stricter limitations on abortion. Wisconsin currently allows abortions up to twenty weeks. Governor Evers, who has consistently advocated for fewer restrictions on abortion, issued a statement criticizing Iowa’s ban.
How sad that Wisconsin becomes an abortion haven. Just a year ago, most abortions in our state were illegal. However, the abortion giant Planned Parenthood and Attorney General Josh Kaul changed that. Fortunately, we still have some restrictions in place, including a twenty-four hour waiting period and a required ultrasound. Maybe these will spare some babies and their mothers.
