Last week Boy Scouts USA officially removed “boys” from its name as it celebrated the fifth anniversary of allowing girls into the formerly all-boys organization. According to the group’s president, the new name, Scouting America, is about attracting more members. The Boy Scouts lost their way years ago. Over the last decade the now-Scouts USA yielded to liberal pressure and allows openly gay members and openly gay leaders, as well as girls identifying as boys.
Fortunately, some visionaries, seeing the progressive path of the Boys Scouts, started Trail Life USA to offer boys and their parents an alternative. Trail Life USA, now ten years old, is exclusively for boys and is decidedly Christian in its approach. Trail Life USA’s CEO says, quote, “Our number one job is not to get kids into the program. Our number one job is to grow godly men.”
