The Wisconsin legislature is wrapping up its floor action for this session, but the Senate will still have at least one more floor period to take up bills that have already been passed by the Assembly. One of those bills deals with requiring websites purveying porn to implement programs and safeguards to ensure that minors do not get access to their material that is harmful to minors. Other states have implanted similar laws and some have even allowed the attorney general to bring charges against these porn purveyors for breaking the law.
It would be a shame to not get this bill to the governor. Porn is so addictive and it’s so readily available now via the Internet. We need to take reasonable steps to protect children from becoming easy prey for those who know so well how addictive porn is. Hopefully the senate will move on this bill.
