Never underestimate the power of a grandparent! Recently we learned of a situation where a granddaughter in a crisis pregnancy was scheduled to meet with Planned Parenthood here in Wisconsin to schedule an abortion. When the girl’s grandmother learned about this, she immediately bought a plane ticket to Wisconsin to talk with her granddaughter and try to convince her not to have the abortion. Because of the grandmother’s influence that resulted in helpful information from a church and sidewalk prayer counselors, the granddaughter chose life.
This particular situation began with a grandmother who loved her granddaughter so much she didn’t want her to make a tragic mistake for this unborn child or for herself. Selfless grandparents have enormous influence on their grandchildren, even when it may not seem that way. Grandparents and other extended family members: never forget the influence you have!
