Last week, Sheboygan County District Attorney Joel Urmanski reported he had appealed the recent decision on the case involving Wisconsin’s pre-Roe abortion ban. Dane County Judge Schlipper had ruled that the law does not apply to abortion. Urmanski also said he will be filing a petition with the state supreme court asking the court to quickly take the case directly since it will end up there anyway.
Meanwhile, this week, Planned Parenthood will resume abortions at their Sheboygan facility. DA Urmanski told Judge Schlipper that he will not bring charges against the abortion giant. Adding to all this, Speaker Vos is saying he wants the legislature to pass and the governor to sign a fifteen-week abortion ban that will then go to the voters as a referendum. The four major pro-life groups oppose Vos’s idea and want the court case to play out.
