Last month Governor Evers signed a proclamation creating October fifteenth as Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day and the month of October as Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month. In part, the proclamation says, “this month the state of Wisconsin joins families, friends, and dedicated individuals and organizations…in honoring the memory and the lives of those lost during pregnancy or infancy and showing encouragement and support for families forever devastated by their loss.”
Ten to twenty percent of known pregnancies end in miscarriage. At Wisconsin Family Council we believe all human life should be cherished. This proclamation, while rather ironic from a governor who supports abortion, rightly cherishes the lives of the human babies who have died through miscarriage or infant loss and recognizes the families’ grief.
