Pregnancy care centers in Vermont are suing Vermont state officials over a new law that would allow the attorney general to bring a civil action against these prolife centers for advertisements that are allegedly “untrue” or are, in abortion advocates’ opinion, quote, “clearly designed to mislead the public about the nature of services provided.” End quote. Interestingly, this law does not apply to abortion providers, only to prolife pregnancy centers.
This is an oft-used tactic to convince pregnant women not to go to these helpful, truthful, compassionate, lifesaving centers. We’ve had similar bills introduced here before; fortunately none ever passed. But this is a great reminder that if liberals had the majority in our state legislature, we’d no doubt have such a bill land on the governor’s desk and he would most assuredly sign it.
