Earlier this week State Senator Romaine Quinn and Representatives Magnafici, Snyder, Nedweski, and Rozar introduced “Embrace Them Both,” a bill package that recognizes that human life begins at conception and that pregnant women often need support both before and after their child is born. The four-bill package adds clarifying language as to what is and isn’t an abortion, extends tax deductions for dependents to include unborn babies, grants one million dollars per year to pregnancy care centers, and provides up to five million dollars to help couples afford adoption.
If we are going to create a culture of life in Wisconsin, policies that strengthen, preserve, and promote life and also protect pregnant women are important, but the most important work is done one on one as we win hearts and minds to the truth that all human life has worth and dignity.
