Earlier this month, Montana Governor Greg Gianforte signed into law a bill that puts a complete ban on Tik Tok, making it the first U.S. state to impose a complete ban on the Chinese-owned video-sharing platform that’s popular among both youth and adults in the United States. The ban on TikTok goes into effect on January first twenty twenty-four unless Congress passes a national law overriding it, or TikTok cuts its ties with China.
Wisconsin hasn’t yet completely banned this app that can spy on, track, and censor Americans, but at least Governor Evers has banned it on all state-owned devices, and the University of Wisconsin has done the same. But that doesn’t mean it’s not on thousands of teens’ phones! Parents, be proactive and protective!
