The first woman, Eve, whose name translates to “life” is known in Scripture as “the mother of all,” establishing the dignity and importance of mothers. Mothers are amazing people who give sacrificially to meet the needs of their children. They, along with dads, are their children’s first, best, and most important teachers. Setting aside a day to give moms some special attention is a small way to honor them for all they do for their families.
Mother’s Day has been a bit maligned of late for various reasons, but it’s never wrong to give honor to whom honor is due. Dads, this is a perfect opportunity for you to show your children how much you love their mother. Work with your children to plan a really special day for mom, complete with surprises that will be especially meaningful to her.
