“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from Heaven, and I will forgive their sin and heal their land.” That promise from 2 Chronicles 7:14 still applies to us today. If we turn back to God, God will be faithful to forgive us and heal our land. And the primary way God wants us to come back to Him—I believe!—is through our obedience. He has given us the greatest purpose in Jesus’ final command to us here on earth, called the Great Commission. “Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations…” And Jesus has given us power as we go, for the Bible tells us that that same power that raised Jesus from the dead lives in us.
