Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.

Tragedies happen…the question is, are we ready? Evangelism Explosion International is headquartered in Asheville, North Carolina, and we recently have experienced a terrible hurricane. Our community has suffered and lost so much, including many precious lives. We’ve lost power, water, roads, and cell connection. And we still have people in our community being rescued as we sort through the wreckage. It was truly a devastating storm. But what we have been seeing through it is the basic humanity of people. We naturally want community and hope when we face devastating circumstances. Especially in times like these, there’s an openness to pray with and for others, weep with them, and share the hope that we have in Jesus. As we come together and help each other—whether we are near or far from a tragedy, let’s also be ready to step in and be there for our community and share the hope of the Gospel.
