For Christians, growth and generosity go hand in hand. Psalm 112:5 tells us, “Good will come to those who are generous…” Well, why do generosity and growth go together? If our aim is to be more like Jesus, well we need to model after His generous nature. He, in fact, is the most giving Person ever to be, for God Himself became a man, lived a perfect life, and died on the cross in payment for our sins. And if we place our trust in Him alone, He gives us the free gift of eternal life. And in Jesus’ ministry on earth, He gave His time to share with and forgive the ones that others spurned: the woman at the well, the lepers, the blind and the lame, and the tax collector Matthew, to name a few. And their lives were eternally changed. So let’s grow to be like Jesus by giving our time and resources so that others might hear the Gospel.
