Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
Have you ever started a conversation with someone, and the person turned away or looked at their watch? We’ve all probably experienced that at some point and maybe we’ve even been the one who’s bored wishing we were somewhere else. When sharing the Gospel, it’s important that we use our eyes to listen to the other person and how they are responding to what you’re saying. We don’t want to just talk at someone. It’s easy for us to be sharing this wonderful news and then suddenly realize that we’ve been the one doing ALL the talking. So, remember to include your friend in the conversation by asking questions. Then, listen carefully as they talk so we can respond to their statements. For example, before you talk to your friend about Jesus, ask them the question, “Who would you say Jesus is?” Their answer will be something that you can build upon.
