1 Thessalonians 4:3 tells us, “It is God’s will that you should be sanctified…” And this brings us to our theological word of the day: sanctification. It’s the process after we come to saving faith in Jesus where we are made more like Christ. This continues until we are called home to Heaven. It’s like an artist chiseling a beautiful sculpture. Through much of the process, it’s messy and difficult—as the creator chisels away at the stone to make a priceless piece of art. This is what Christ does to those who put their trust in Him alone! He creates in us a pure heart as He guides our path. And we become more like Jesus through reading His Word and responding, spending time in prayer, telling others the Gospel, being in fellowship with other Christians, and worshipping our amazing God.
