“Don’t take it personally.” You’ve probably given or been given that advice many times. And it’s good advice in some situations. But when it comes to arranging your workspace, just the opposite is true.
Most of us spend a great deal of our prime time at work. It’s also a place where some of us need help staying motivated to make the best use of that time. One way to do that is by making your workplace personal, with family pictures, favorite motivational quotes or Scripture verses to keep you focused, and colors or themes to make it feel like your own space.
In addition to keeping you motivated, personalizing your workplace can give you an opportunity to share the Gospel. My first full time job was teaching in a government school. Even though some didn’t like it, I put a poster of Jesus beside my desk.
By personalizing your workspace, you’ll not only stay motivated and inspired, but you can also give a clear Christian testimony and redeem the time.
