What time did you get up this morning? A little later than you planned perhaps? But, you say, it’s because I stayed up late last night. But what were you doing last night? Watching TV? What do have to show today for the time you spent watching TV last night? Nothing.
When we oversleep we miss the best part of the day, the early morning. A beautiful sunrise beats late night TV any day. In Exodus, Moses promised the people, “In the morning ye shall see the glory of the Lord.” David told God in Psalm 63, “Early will I seek thee”
No, God’s blessings are not limited to the dawning hours of the day, but there is a pattern among people that are greatly used of God of getting up earlier than the rest of us. Ben Franklin said, “The early morning has gold in its mouth.”
Why not claim some of that gold for yourself by rising early to redeem the time?
