A man complained to the bank teller, “But my checking account couldn’t possibly be overdrawn. I’ve still got 17 checks left.”
If you’ve ever overdrawn your checking account, you know it can be a very costly mistake. Bank fees can be very steep for waiting too long to make that deposit.
But we can also loose valuable time through different types of overdrafts. For example, in most states you can now get your car tags renewed by mail, if you mail it on time. But if the renewal form sits in your in tray too long, you may have to spend hours renewing in person. If you don’t pay parking tickets quickly you might spend hours getting your impounded car back. If you wait too long to ask for help putting the church Christmas play together, guess who’ll be up all night getting the costumes ready by them self.
Avoiding overdrafts is a smart way to redeem the time.
