In 1848 Niagara Falls actually stopped flowing for about 20 hours because of ice that was blocking the Niagara River.
If you’ve ever witnessed the mighty Niagara Falls you can imagine what it would take to stop the flow of that river. But there is something else that flows even more forcefully. And that is time. No one can stop the flow of time. There is absolutely nothing we can do to speed it up or to slow it down.
Time moves at the same pace for rich and poor, young and old, saved and lost. The flow of time has been the most constant force in the universe since God created time in the beginning. It will continue to remain constant until we reach eternity and time shall be no more.
There are really only two things we can do with time. We can either waste it or redeem it. When you ponder the unstoppable flow of time you will quickly feel the need to redeem the time.
