If we are to manage our time well there is one character quality that must be cultivated. It is decisiveness. Being decisive means focusing on our destination rather than focusing on distractions. Proverbs 4:27 says “Turn not to the right hand nor to the left.” The decisive individual refuses to waste time reconsidering a decision he knows to be right. He doesn’t second guess in the dark a decision he’s already made in the light.
Indecisive people on the other hand will spend an hour just deciding what to have for supper or what clothes to wear. They cannot produce because they cannot decide what to produce or how they will produce it.
Do you have trouble making a decision and sticking by it? Jesus said no man having put his hand to the plow and looking back was worthy of being His follower. Decisiveness is a vital character quality for those who would redeem the time.
