Welcome to Prophecy Q & A with Jimmy DeYoung!
I don’t believe so.
Zechariah 12:10 says that they will look upon Him whom they have pierced. When does this happen?
Zechariah 12:2 says that Jerusalem shall become a cup of trembling.
Zechariah 12:12-13 says that they will divide, the men on one side and the women on the other.
Zechariah 13:8 says that two out of every three Jews will be killed.
Zechariah 13:9 says that the other third will turn to Him as Messiah.
Zechariah 14:2 says that the armies will gather from around the world in Jerusalem.
Zechariah 14:4 says that Jesus Christ will step down on the Mount of Olives.
The sequence is that Jerusalem becomes a cup of trembling. The Jews look on Him Whom they have pierced. Two out of three Jews are killed in the Tribulation period, and the other third is saved at the end of the Tribulation period. Jesus Christ comes back. The Battle of Armageddon takes place.
When are they looking on Him Whom they have pierced? Today.
The Jews stand at the Western Wall, their holy place, and believe that the Messiah is behind the wall. People call it the Wailing Wall because the Jews stand there praying which sounds like wailing. They don’t stand looking at the temple because Song of Songs 2:9 was quoted, “My beloved is like a roe or a young hart: behold, he standeth behind our wall, he looketh forth at the windows, shewing himself through the lattice.”
They are looking on Him Whom they pierced, not at the sepulcher or at Gordon’s Calvary but on the Mount of Olives (Matthew 27). Those standing at the foot of the cross saw 37 things when Christ was crucified. The last thing that they saw was the veil of the Temple ripped from top to bottom. From the sepulcher or Gordon’s Calvary, you wouldn’t be able to see the veil rip. There is only one place you can stand with a 21-story building and a 5-story high door which was open for a pilgrim feast day. It was dark outside, and inside, a menorah was lit. The centurion standing at the foot of the cross saw the veil of the Temple rent from top to bottom and said that this was the Son of God.
When He comes back, there will be no sorrow, only joy. When they see the Messiah face to face, there will be no sorrow. They will love Him. They will be there because He has protected them.
Jimmy DeYoung was a prophecy teacher and journalist who travelled the country and the world educating the Body of Christ of the future events foretold in God’s prophetic Word. His goal was to equip Christians with the knowledge and understanding of what God’s Word says will happen someday soon, so that they can make better decisions today. Dr. DeYoung went home to be with his Savior on August 15, 2021.
