What Is the Significance of Ezekiel Being Called the Son of Man?

Welcome to Prophecy Q & A with Jimmy DeYoung!

Ninety-three times in the book of Ezekiel he is referred to as the Son of Man. “Son” means a relationship. I have a son, and I have a relationship with him that any other two guys in the building would not have. This is why Ezekiel was being called the Son of Man, because he had a relationship with the glory of the Lord. Ezekiel means “God will strengthen” or “God will pardon,” and this is what will happen in the first 32 chapters, giving them the message of retribution to make sure that they are living the way He wants them to and chastise them because they are not.

In Ezekiel 33-48, he talks about a message of restoration. He will restore His relationship with them and will do something very special for them.

In Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, Jesus Christ is referred to as the Son of Man.

In Ezekiel, the term is used as a term of endearment.
