Is There a Connection Between the Firmament in Ezekiel 1:22 and Genesis 1:6?

Welcome to Prophecy Q & A with Jimmy DeYoung!

In Genesis 1:8, “And God called the firmament heaven.” He separated the waters on the earth from those above the earth so that we could have a breathing space to live. He called the firmament heaven. When you come to the description in Ezekiel 1 of the throne chariot, four cherubim formed a chariot and were transporting the glory of the Lord to the earth to meet Ezekiel. When he talks about the likeness of the firmament, there is a connection because the throne chariot and four cherubim come out of what the Lord called heaven. It was a preincarnate appearance of Jesus Christ which is the glory of the Lord who appeared to Ezekiel in the last part of Ezekiel 1. The living creatures are part of this habitation, the firmament/heavens.

Jimmy DeYoung was a prophecy teacher and journalist who travelled the country and the world educating the Body of Christ of the future events foretold in God’s prophetic Word. His goal was to equip Christians with the knowledge and understanding of what God’s Word says will happen someday soon, so that they can make better decisions today.
