Welcome to Prophecy Q & A with Jimmy DeYoung!
It was the end of the Six-Day War. The Israeli Defense Force and some elite paratroopers had been bivouacked on the Mount of Olives. The command came from the Minister of Defense and the chief-of-staff of the Israeli Defense Force who would later become prime minister to bring these troops across the Kidron Valley, up through the Lion Gate, made a quick turn to the left and were on the top of the Temple Mount. In just a few moments, in an amazing military operation, the reunification of the city of Jerusalem occurred. The new city, occupied by the Jews since 1948, and the Jews were now able to reunite on the Temple Mount which is the most sacred piece of real estate for the Jewish people.
Every Prime Minister, since the nation became a state in 1948, has made the statement that Jerusalem is the undivided, eternal capital of the Jewish people. It was a great time for the world to recognize the Jewish right to the Temple Mount in Jerusalem.
A few days later, the powers that be in the Israeli government gave custodial responsibilities to the Islamic Trust which gave them the opportunity to be the gatekeeper to the Temple Mount. The Muslims determine who goes up there, when they go up, and what they can do up there.
The Temple Mount may be under the sovereignty of the state of Israel but not practically; they do not have hands-on control. That will happen when Jesus Christ comes back.
Jesus Christ had comments about the things that are going on even today. In the Olivet Discourse in Luke 21:24, Jesus said, “And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled (the Second Coming).” This happened in 70 A.D. The Gentile world powers will take control.
Jimmy DeYoung was a prophecy teacher and journalist who travelled the country and the world educating the Body of Christ of the future events foretold in God’s prophetic Word. His goal was to equip Christians with the knowledge and understanding of what God’s Word says will happen someday soon, so that they can make better decisions today. Dr. DeYoung went home to be with his Savior on August 15, 2021.
