If the Jews Burn the Weapons from the Battle of Gog and Magog for Fuel for Seven Years, Doesn’t that Mean that the Battle Will Have to Take Place Before the Tribulation Since that Wouldn’t Be Necessary in the Millennium?

Welcome to Prophecy Q & A with Jimmy DeYoung!

“And they that dwell in the cities of Israel shall go forth, and shall set on fire and burn the weapons, both the shields and the bucklers, the bows and the arrows, and the handstaves, and the spears, and they shall burn them with fire seven years: So that they shall take no wood out of the field, neither cut down any out of the forests; for they shall burn the weapons with fire: and they shall spoil those that spoiled them, and rob those that robbed them, saith the Lord GOD.”
Ezekiel 39:9-10

We believe that the battle between Gog and Magog, which is an attack on Israel, is the second horseman. The first horseman (Revelation 6) is the man on the white horse that comes riding in, carrying a bow with no arrows.  We believe that is the Antichrist.

The Tribulation starts once the Antichrist confirms the peace treaty (Daniel 9, 10, and 11) with Israel. The Antichrist allows Israel to rebuild the Temple that will stand during the Tribulation period. The man on the red horse, the second seal judgment that is unleashed, represents war. We believe this is when the war occurs. All of the countries mentioned in Ezekiel 38, Psalm 83, and Daniel 11 will attack Israel and this is the war between Gog and Magog and takes place at the beginning of the Tribulation period. It doesn’t mean that the weapons could not be burned during the Millennial Kingdom. Israel will not need to cut down any trees in the forest or be a part of anything involved. They will use that as fuel to burn fires in the city of Jerusalem or state of Israel during that period of time.

Jimmy DeYoung was a prophecy teacher and journalist who travelled the country and the world educating the Body of Christ of the future events foretold in God’s prophetic Word. His goal was to equip Christians with the knowledge and understanding of what God’s Word says will happen someday soon, so that they can make better decisions today. Dr. DeYoung went home to be with his Savior on August 15, 2021.
