When We Get to Heaven, Will We Actually See God Face to Face or Just Jesus in the Person?

Welcome to Prophecy Q & A with Jimmy DeYoung!

I don’t really know. I don’t see anything in Scripture that gives me a direct statement about your question. Anyone that you listen to on TV should be held to a strict biblical standard. There are a lot of heretics teaching Bible prophecy on national Christian television.

When we are in a human body, we can’t see God face to face. John 1 says that anyone who sees Him will have to die. Nobody can see God the Father face to face today. The Holy Spirit is a spirit; therefore, we can’t see Him either.

1 John 3:2 says that we shall be like Jesus Christ at the time of the Rapture of the Church. We are changed in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, and we will be like Him. We will be able to do what He does. We will see Him and be like Him. If He sees God and the Holy Spirit, so shall we be able to do that.

John was taken into the heavenlies and recorded for us what he saw in Revelation 4 and 5 in the third heaven.

Revelation 5:1 says, “And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals. And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof? And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon.” This seems to indicate that John translated into the third heaven and was able to see God the Father because God the Father is the One Who is seated on the throne with the sealed book in His hand. John saw Jesus come over to Him and take the sealed book from God the Father. This seems to indicate that in the heavenlies that we will be able to see them and recognize them.

Jimmy DeYoung was a prophecy teacher and journalist who travelled the country and the world educating the Body of Christ of the future events foretold in God’s prophetic Word. His goal was to equip Christians with the knowledge and understanding of what God’s Word says will happen someday soon, so that they can make better decisions today. Dr. DeYoung went home to be with his Savior on August 15, 2021.
