Why Do You Think that Muslims Having Visions of Jesus Is Not Consistent with Scripture?

Welcome to Prophecy Q & A with Jimmy DeYoung!

We look at the entire Bible. 1 Corinthians 13:8-12 and 2 Corinthians 12:12 talk about the end of the apostolic age when there are no more apostles appointed by Jesus Christ. These Muslims would not be able to qualify because every single apostle had to have been one who saw the resurrected Jesus Christ, Paul being the last one to have seen Him. If you put aside that Jesus was appearing to these Muslims, and that would be the case, otherwise, you would have to have more apostles, every single one of these people seeing an appearance of Jesus Christ, the resurrected Christ. It would become a crazy, mixed up, discombobulated theology.

Jesus Christ used signs, wonders, and miracles to authenticate His own ministry. He then gave this power to the apostles so they would be authenticated as well as appointed by Jesus Christ. God wants a way to communicate with His people. He started with creation, using it to speak to us. Down through the ages, He breathed into some 40 men over 1500 years into 66 books of the Bible, concluding with what He wants to say to us from Genesis 1:1 to Revelation 22:21.

Signs, wonders, and miracles were a part of history but not every single part of history. After creation, there were many centuries of no signs, wonders, and miracles until you come to Moses. Moses was an important figure in the Jewish world and the whole world as well. Moses used signs, wonders, and miracles. He used them to show the people about judgment.

Then there is another period with no signs, wonders, and miracles. Elijah and Elisha used signs, wonders, and miracles. Then it is silent again until Jesus comes to authenticate His ministry.

Signs, wonders, and miracles would be a time of judgment. Joel 2:1 refers to the “Day of the Lord” which does not start until after the Rapture of the Church, 1 Thessalonians 5, and continues until the Great White Throne Judgment. The specific usage is the day that Christ steps back on the Mount of Olives in the city of Jerusalem. Joel 2 says to blow the trumpet and get ready for the war near my holy mountain because of the “Day of the Lord.” He is talking about the seven-year Tribulation period. Joel 2:28ff tells of the signs, wonders, and miracles that everybody thought might have been fulfilled at Pentecost. Peter didn’t say that it was the fulfillment but that it is like what Joel wrote about and to be ready for that type of thing at the end.

When the Lord spoke, He spoke to individuals, a preincarnate appearance or a post resurrection appearance; He was giving information that had to be included in the Word of God. If it is God’s Word, then it would qualify to be revelation that needs to be part of the Word of God. This is not the case.

I do not believe that these appearances are happening when you look at the overall big picture of what signs, wonders, and miracles were all about in the Word of God.

Signs, wonders, and miracles will come back into effect in the Tribulation period. Since we are not in the Tribulation period, I do not believe that signs, wonders, and miracles are for today.

A sign, wonder, or miracle is something that we can see. We are saved by faith through grace, not of works lest any man should boast. Faith (Hebrews 11:1) is the things hoped for, things not seen. Signs, wonders, and miracles are things that are seen, so they are not real faith.

These visions have to be Satanic.

Jimmy DeYoung was a prophecy teacher and journalist who travelled the country and the world educating the Body of Christ of the future events foretold in God’s prophetic Word. His goal was to equip Christians with the knowledge and understanding of what God’s Word says will happen someday soon, so that they can make better decisions today. Dr. DeYoung went home to be with his Savior on August 15, 2021.
