How Does the Fifth Seal Fit in with the Rapture?

Welcome to Prophecy Q & A with Jimmy DeYoung!

The fifth seal is found in Revelation 6:9-11. It is talking about martyrdom of believers during the Tribulation period. There will be people who get saved during the Tribulation period. They will not be called Christians. This passage is not talking about Christian martyrdom, but about Tribulation saints who will be martyred.

There is a time period for Christians to be in existence. It started with the day of Pentecost in Acts 2 and continues until the Rapture of the Church. These are the boundaries for people to become Christians. Jews and Gentiles, once they receive Christ as Lord and Savior become Christians; they are no longer Jews or Gentiles.

God has three members (Gentiles, Jews, and Christians) of the human family and a program for each of them. During the Church Age, Gentiles and Jews receiving Christ are Christians and are a part of the program that God has for the Church.

In the Tribulation period, during the seven years after the Rapture and leading up to the Second Coming of Christ, those people who trust in Christ are NOT Christians but Tribulation saints. This passage tells us that they will be martyred because of their testimony and the stand that they take for the Word of God (Revelation 6:9).

This is why John the Revelator was put on the Isle of Patmos for his testimony and his teaching of the Word of God.

In Revelation 20:4-6, it talks about the martyrs who were beheaded because they ultimately rejected the mark on the forehead and the worship of Satan. This will be one type of martyrdom that takes place during the Tribulation period.

Jimmy DeYoung was a prophecy teacher and journalist who travelled the country and the world educating the Body of Christ of the future events foretold in God’s prophetic Word. His goal was to equip Christians with the knowledge and understanding of what God’s Word says will happen someday soon, so that they can make better decisions today. Dr. DeYoung went home to be with his Savior on August 15, 2021.
