In Ezekiel 38:13, you do not see the word “oil” mentioned. It does not mean that it will not be one of the spoils or “hooks in the jaw” that the verse refers to that will bring these enemies into Israel. It says, “Art thou come to take a spoil? Hast thou gathered thy company to take a prey? To carry away silver and gold, to take away cattle and goods, to take a great spoil?” Silver and gold are mentioned.
Abraham had much riches, basically silver and gold 4,000 years ago. Three thousand years ago, in the time of King Solomon, Solomon’s mines were well-known across the world for the riches that they contained, which was silver and gold. To my knowledge, I don’t know of any mines that are being mined today for silver and gold. However, I do know that the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank are looking at the possibility of doing the Red Dead Project, which would be the Red Sea and the Dead Sea, two bodies of water that are connected to Israel. The Dead Sea, about 25 miles to the south of Jerusalem, is about to run out of water. It is called the Dead Sea because water flows in, but it never flows out. (There is a spiritual lesson regarding the Dead Sea. You take everything in, but you don’t give it out. You may become dead as well). The Dead Sea is about to be dead because it will not have any more water.
One of the most productive companies in Israel would be the Dead Sea Works which extracts both the chemicals, minerals, and phosphate out of the Dead Sea. They say that there is enough phosphate (used to make fertilizer) in the Dead Sea to fertilize the whole Earth for 200 years. This is a valuable product in the Dead Sea. The project has been mentioned by the president of the country and the financing of the project. They would put up a conduit pipe from the Red Sea (at sea level) to the Dead Sea (1300 feet below sea level), bringing the Red Sea water to the Dead Sea to revitalize it. The tourist industry would expand. Electric power plants would be placed along the conduit. They believe they can extract all of the silver and gold that has drained down into the Dead Sea for these many years (approximately 3,000). The rain waters have been eroding the land around the area and causing all of the gold and silver in that land in the times of Abraham and King Solomon to go down into the waters of the Dead Sea. I have heard one estimate that there is enough gold and silver in the Dead Sea to pay off the national debt for every nation of the world.
