In Matthew 24:24, the Lord tells Matthew that there is going to be a time when even the Elect could be deceived. This deception is how the antichrist will walk into the Holy of Holies and claim to be God (the Abomination of Desolation). He is not talking about Christians in this verse. If a Gentile or a Jew, some other time in history, comes to know Christ as Savior, he is a part of the Elect. When the Elect is referred to in this verse, it is not only talking about Christians, but all those who come to know Christ as Lord and Savior.
Christians are not going to go through the Tribulation. If you think that the judgment will only purify us, remember that the blood of Jesus has purified us as much as we are ever going to be purified. We as Christians will be judged at the Judgment Seat of Christ for the works that we do after we come to know Christ as Lord and Savior. We will not be judged for any sin that we have done. That is the only reason for going into persecution. The Lord will use the judgment on the Earth and on Earth dwellers to draw them to Himself. Even in Revelation 16 when the sun gets so hot that it scorches the bodies of men., they don’t turn to Jesus Christ; they blaspheme Him, cursing Him to His face.
We will be married to Jesus Christ and have a seven-year celebration, the Marriage Supper of the Lamb, to attend in the heavenlies with Jesus Christ.
