There are three things that happen after the Rapture of the church. The Tribulation period does not start immediately.
First, the Revived Roman Empire (the ten toes of Daniel 2 or the ten horns in Daniel 7:7) must come into existence. There are 27 member states. The Mediterranean Union adds 17 additional states, including 16 Islamic states and one Jewish state. There will be 44 states. The Lisbon Treaty calls for regions to be put into place. They cannot manage 44 states.
Then the Antichrist (the little horn in Daniel 7:8) comes out of the ten horns, one of the 27 names for the Antichrist.
Then in Daniel 9:27, it says that the Antichrist will confirm a covenant (treaty) with many for one week. The clock starts ticking on the Tribulation Period when the treaty is confirmed by the Antichrist and brings together a pseudo-peace or a short-lived peace between Israel and her neighbors who are her enemies today. It is during this time that Ezekiel 38, Daniel 11, and Psalm 83 take place because in Ezekiel 38:8 and 11 say that when the Jewish people are dwelling safely in the land, they will do that in the first six months when the peace treaty has been confirmed.
