Welcome to Prophecy Q & A with Jimmy DeYoung!
We who know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior are the Bride of Christ.
In 2 Corinthians 11:2, Paul says, “For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.” We come as a pure, virtuous virgin bride to Him. In Revelation 19:7-9 it talks about us being married to Jesus Christ.
There are three parts to a wedding. The engagement period is what we are in now. Jesus Christ has gone to heaven to prepare a place for us. This is what the groom-to-be does when he becomes engaged to his bride-to-be. He goes back to his father’s house and builds an addition to his house and provides a place where they can live after they are married. Then, he comes back and is married. While he is building the addition to his house, he tells his bride-to-be to get her wedding garments ready.
In Revelation 19:8, this is what we are doing today. We are preparing our wedding garments as the bride of Christ to be married to Him. It says that our righteous acts will be our wedding garments. It is determined at the Judgment Seat of Christ when the Lord judges all of our works that we have done. It is not for the purpose of deciding whether we are saved or lost. We do not go to the Judgement Seat of Christ unless we are a saved person. What reward we receive and what garment we will be wearing will be determined at the Judgment Seat of Christ.
Revelation 19:9 talks about the Marriage Supper of the Lamb. After the Jewish couple is married, they celebrate for seven days. In John 2, Jesus and his disciples arrived in Cana of Galilee. Mary, Jesus’ mother, was at the wedding. On the third day of the celebration, Jesus comes, and Mary asks Jesus to make wine because all of the wine had run out. The Marriage Supper of the Lamb is a seven-year celebration in the heavens; it’s happening in the heavens as hell is breaking loose on the earth and the judgment is happening.
We who know Christ as Lord and Savior, His bride, will be married to Him and will be that way forever.
