Welcome to Prophecy Q & A with Jimmy DeYoung!
Post-Tribulation Rapture means that the Rapture takes place at the end of the seven-year Tribulation period. It would mean that at the end of the Tribulation period, all Christians would be raptured out and taken to heaven. We would get on the white horses and come right back. It does not seem practical that that would be the case. I don’t believe God would want us to suffer the seven years of Tribulation. Revelation 3:10 says that we shall not have to face this Tribulation. It says that He will keep us from the Tribulation. The rapture happens before the Tribulation period not during.
I Thessalonians 4:13-18 describe how the Rapture is going to take place. Jesus will shout, the archangel will shout, the trump of God will sound, and those of us who are alive and remain on the earth shall be caught up to meet Him in the air. Verse 17 says that we will never leave His presence after that. Verse 18 says to comfort each other with this thought. If the Lord exhorts us, through the Apostle Paul who wrote to the people in Thessalonica about the Rapture of the church, to comfort one another with this thought, then what comfort is it to go through a seven-year Tribulation period, do a quick trip to the heavenlies, and then come back to the earth on white horses?
1 Corinthians 15:51 says that in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, we will be changed. Our bodies will be made so that we can go into the heavenlies and live forever.
In Revelation 4:1, I believe that John was translated from the Isle of Patmos into the third heaven. Revelation 4:2-5:14 indicates that John is in the throne room in the heavenlies where God the Father is with Jesus at His right hand. Revelation 4:1, “I heard as it were of a trumpet talking with me (Trumpets don’t talk … the phrase indicates that this is an apocalyptic passage); which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter.” Revelation 4:2-19:10 are 16 chapters detailing about the period of time called the Tribulation period.
Jimmy DeYoung was a prophecy teacher and journalist who travelled the country and the world educating the Body of Christ of the future events foretold in God’s prophetic Word. His goal was to equip Christians with the knowledge and understanding of what God’s Word says will happen someday soon, so that they can make better decisions today. Dr. DeYoung went home to be with his Savior on August 15, 2021.
