The Real Threats to Climate and Global Stability

While climate activists fixate on carbon emissions, the real threats to global stability remain unaddressed. Military emissions, catastrophic wars, and economic vulnerabilities pose far greater risks than the gradual effects of climate change. Yet, these issues are conspicuously absent from the mainstream environmental agenda.

Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev, host of COP29, aptly called oil and gas a “gift from God.” Fossil fuels have undeniably powered prosperity and progress. Meanwhile, China, the world’s largest emitter, enjoys U.N. protection as a “developing country,” exempting it from meaningful emission reductions or financial contributions. Similarly, military emissions from massive operations, including the Russia-Ukraine war, continue unchecked. Despite these glaring hypocrisies, climate activists remain silent, focusing instead on punishing the U.S. and its allies with exorbitant reparations.

Compounding this hypocrisy is NATO’s recent warning about the economic risks of globalization. Dutch Admiral Rob Bauer urged nations to repatriate production lines, warning that reliance on foreign manufacturing could cripple economies in wartime. This belated realization exposes the folly of decades-long globalist policies that sent American jobs offshore, leaving the U.S. vulnerable to economic blackmail.

Simultaneously, geopolitical tensions escalate. Russia’s hypersonic missiles threaten global security, while U.S. support for Ukraine invites retaliation. World War III, not climate change, poses the most immediate existential threat. Yet, the climate agenda distracts from these dangers, diverting resources toward fruitless international agreements.

Instead of capitulating to global demands, the U.S. must focus on energy independence and economic resilience. Policies championing domestic production, like those promoted under Trump, would shield America from foreign manipulation. As cold weather grips the U.S., disproving the apocalyptic predictions of Al Gore and his ilk, it’s clear that prioritizing practical solutions over alarmist rhetoric is the only path forward. Environmentalism should serve American interests, not undermine them.
