It’s August 1, 1776. I’m with David Bushnell in his invention, a submarine called Turtle. It sure is hot in here I can hardly breathe.
JG: “Will the British warship Eagle get us?”
DB: “John, you’re taking precious air … ready … FIRE! I can’t penetrate the Eagles copper sheathing!”
While the Turtle’s attack and other attacks against British warships were unsuccessful. David Bushnell, the father of the submarine, expressed the American spirit of innovation and patriotism.
