Experience the American dream with today’s Patriot of the Past interview. I’m your host, John Gillespie.
It’s July 16, 1779. I’m with the regiment of Mad Anthony Wayne. We’re about to attack the British fort at Stony Point, New York.
AW: “Shhhh … John, we had to kill the dogs so their barking wouldn’t give us away.”
JG: “Look out, Mad Anthony!”
AW: “Oh, that bullet grazed my head! Charge, men! Charge!”
Wayne’s men, inspired by Mad Anthony’s courage, overwhelmed the British, achieving a resounding victory at Stony Point.
