It’s March 31, 1776. I’ve just stopped at the home of John and Abigail Adams. John is at the Second Continental Congress. Abigail is writing words of encouragement to her husband,
JG: “Abigail, would you share some of your letter?”
AA: “Sure … Dear John, I miss you terribly, but it is time we practice the words of liberty, so go and be strong. I long to hear that we have declared independence, and I especially desire that you remember the ladies when you make the laws for our new nation.”
It’s important to remember our Founding Fathers and Mothers were fighting for freedom for all Americans, regardless of gender or race.
