It’s April 19, 1775. I’m at the Battle of Lexington with Captain John Parker.
JG: “Captain Parker, do you really have any chance to defeat the world’s most powerful army?”
JP: “Johnny, we are only 70 Minutemen, and they are 700 strong, but we can’t take it anymore. We must stand our ground. We won’t fire unless fired upon, but if they mean to have war, let it begin here.”
Begin it did as the shot heard round the world proclaimed America was ready to fight for freedom.
