It’s August 1, 1776. I’m in Philadelphia with Samuel Adams at the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
JG: “Mr. Adams, what are your thoughts on this historical day?”
SA: “Mr. Gillespie, we have this day restored the Sovereign to whom all men ought to be obedient. He reigns in heaven, and from the rising to the setting of the sun, let His kingdom come. We must now prepare to defeat the mightiest army in the world, and only by God’s help, can we be victorious!
