Experience the American dream with today’s Patriot of the Past interview. I’m your host, John Gillespie.
It’s November 29, 1623. I’m with the Governor of Plymouth Colony, and he has just made an official proclamation for a Day of Thanksgiving.
JG: “Governor Bradford, could you read a portion of your proclamation?”
WB: “So all ye pilgrims, in as much as the Great Father has given us this year an abundant harvest, and He has granted us freedom to worship God according to the dictates of our own conscience, now I do proclaim that all ye pilgrims are to render thanksgiving to ye Almighty God for all His blessings.”
All of us at 1776 American Dream wish you and your family a blessed Thanksgiving.
