Kate Barry – January 7, 1781

Experience the American dream with today’s Patriot of the Past interview. I’m your host, John Gillespie.

It’s January 7, 1781. I’m in South Carolina riding along with Kate Barry.

JG: “Kate, where are we going?”

KB: “I’m helping General Morgan round up local militia to join the Continental Army. Thousands of British are on their way to Cowpens.”

KB: “Wake up boys! We need men to fight the British monster!”

Kate rode like the wind for days and convinced hundreds of patriots to join General Morgan. Just 30 days later, the Patriots won the battle of Cowpens, turning the tide of the American Revolution.
