Experience the American dream with today’s Patriot of the Past interview. I’m your host, John Gillespie.
It’s July 8, 1775. I’m with John Dickenson, a member of the Continental Congress and author of the Olive Branch Petition.
JG: “Mr. Dickenson, why are you trying to reconcile with the King of England?”
JD: “Mr. Gillespie, Americans are not anarchists or revolutionaries. We are lovers of liberty, which can only be secured through the righteous rule of law.”
Unfortunately, the King of England continued to violate the colonies’ God-given rights, thus creating the American War for Independence.
