Experience the American dream with today’s Patriot of the Past interview. I’m your host, John Gillespie.
It’s March 4, 1797. I’m in Philadelphia at the inauguration of President John Adams. Let’s listen in as President Adams reads his inaugural address.
JA: “And may that Being who is supreme overall, the Patron of Order, the Fountain of Justice, and the Protector in all ages of the world of virtuous liberty, continue his blessing upon this nation and its government and give it all possible success and duration consistent with the ends of his providence.”
President Adams, the voice of the American Revolution, understood the importance of our reliance upon God’s blessings and guidance for America.
