Experience the American dream with today’s Patriot of the Past interview. I’m your host, John Gillespie.
It’s November 1, 1790. I’m with Harvard graduate John Quincy Adams, the son of John Adams.
JG: “John Quincy, what are you writing?”
JQA: “Mr. Gillespie, that radical Thomas Paine has written a notorious book titled The Rights of Man. In it, he attacks the Christian ideas behind our republic, He must be corrected!”
Correct Mr. Paine he did! John Quincy’s response was so well written, many thought it was the work of his father, John Adams.
