It’s September 17, 1787. I’m in Philadelphia standing outside Independence Hall. Our Founding Fathers have just signed America’s rulebook, the Constitution. Here comes Benjamin Franklin.
JG: “Mr. Franklin, sir, what kind of government has been formed?”
BF: “A republic, if you can keep it.”
Keep it, we have. But to preserve the Republic under God and the American dream of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, we must all do our part.
